On Tuesday, August 1, 2018, the NCWorks Career Center in Richmond County hosted a “NCWorks 101” training for businesses and industries from 2:00-5:00 pm at Richmond Community College. The training served to familiarize businesses and industries with the services available through the NCWorks Online system as well as the NCWorks Career Centers. Some of the highlights included a presentation by NCWorks employment analyst Alan Wagner on how to utilize the NCWorks system efficiently and effectively to locate and view labor market information, create and post job orders, and screen applicants and potential applicants using the virtual recruiter and online resumes entered into NCWorks by job seekers. The key takeaway from the presentation was that the NCWorks Online system and Career Centers exist as an invaluable resource available to businesses and industries in meeting their workforce needs. Businesses and industries in attendance included Ritz-Craft, Hood Packaging, and the Von Drehle Corporation.
